Our Code of Ethics

 

  1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

 

Ethics, in the simplest term, examines the standards of judgments which are widely and universally accepted in human relations. On the other hand, business ethics is the unity of principles that are developed for the purpose of guidance to behaviors in business world. These rules apply to all employees and managers working in any of the companies within our Group and cover all third parties and employees acting on behalf of our Company.

 

  1. CODE OF ETHICS AND BUSINESS CONDUCT

 

  • Continuous compliance with laws: Our legal liabilities are to execute all our existing activities and actions in the country and abroad within the framework of the laws of Republic of Turkey and international law, and to provide accurate, complete, clear and timely information to the legal regulatory institutions and organizations.
  • Honesty: Accuracy and honesty are our primary values in all our business processes and relationships. We act based on accuracy and honesty in our relations with employees and all our stakeholders.
  • Avoidance of conflict of interest: We aim to avoid situations that may create a conflict of interest in our business activities. In case of potential conflict of interest, the interests of relevant parties are protected by legal and ethical methods.
  • Gifts,  receiving and giving gifts and entertainment: Employees may not ask for gifts, earnings, aids, commissions or discounts that may affect their impartiality, decisions and behaviors for their own benefit, or they may not accept such offers. Except for the gifts that do not have undoubtedly a symbolic meaning and whose price does not exceed 100 TL, gifts from persons or institutions with whom our Group has a commercial relationship are not accepted. Our employees may not borrow money from suppliers, consultants, competitors or customers. Our employees are obliged to refuse gifts such as goods, services, cash or checks that may come from a third party, and that may or intend to affect our company's preferences and decisions, regardless of their value. Similarly, our employees do not offer or make such requests for gifts, entertainment or other gifts that may or intend to affect the decisions of other institutions about our company.

 

Our employees may not give gifts to institutions and persons with whom they are in a business relationship, except for gifts that our company has prepared for promotional purposes and products that our company distributes to employees. Gifts and promotional materials that are identified to be given to customers, dealers or other third parties with business relationships must be approved by the Human Resources Director.

 

Giving, receiving or offering bribes and/or commissions may not be accepted under any circumstances.

 

  • Political activities: Employees must avoid situations that may lead to conflict of interest in their current positions and responsibilities because of the political activities which they are engaged in. The Company name, the position within the Company and the Company resources may not be used in the individual political activities. Political propaganda is not allowed during working hours and workplace environment.
  • Protection of trade secrets and confidentiality: It is the common responsibility of all our companies and employees to ensure effective use and proper sharing of information and the confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of information in this process.
  • Information security: Every employee must protect and secure the information disclosed to him/her as part of his/her job, and be sensitive to preventing unauthorized access to all systems and data.
  • Confidentiality of employee's personal information: Employees' personal information is kept confidential in the Human Resources Department. Wages, benefits and all other private information are not shared with anyone. Employees also may not share their salary, and personal information.
  • Mobbing, harassment and gossip in the workplace: No behavior and verbal harassment which may result in humiliation or embarrassment to anyone working in our Company, and no gossip that may disturb the peace of the workplace is allowed.
  • Any behavior that may lead to all types  of harassment and mobbing, and any verbal, physical or visual behavior that creates a disturbing, hostile and humiliating environment are carefully investigated, and no tolerance is shown towards any type of them.

    In addition, it is forbidden to make racist, ethnic, religious, age-related or sexually disturbing jokes or insults, and to distribute offensive pictures or cartoons, and to use voicemail, e-mail or other electronic means for conveying the humiliating or discriminatory information.

  • Alcohol and drugs: It is forbidden to use, posses, sell, manufacture, spread, distribute or purchase alcohol and drugs (other than those prescribed by a doctor with a legal prescription having a valid date) while working. Also, it is forbidden for our employees to work under the effect of these substances.
  • Donation: The employees of Tibet Group of Companies can evaluate the donations, which they collect themselves, by granting to charity organizations within the knowledge of the Management and HR Directorate.
  1. The Human Resources Department is responsible for enforcing all rules and keeping them up-to-date.
